Shares of Oracle (ORCL) jumped about 10% premarket on Wednesday after fiscal third-quarter results and outlook beat estimates and drew positive reactions from analysts.

J.P. Morgan upgraded Oracle’s rating to Overweight from Neutral, noting that the severe selloff improves risk-reward against a backdrop of thick investor pessimism.

However, the firm lowered the price target on the stock to $210 from $230.

Analysts led by Mark Murphy said that they upgraded the shares due to several reasons. They said the material selloff in Oracle’s shares, down 55% since mid-September (versus +1% for the S&P 500 and 0% for the NASDAQ), de-risks valuation.

Murphy and his team added that the corresponding shift in investor expectations from blind faith to widespread pessimism in the attainability of fiscal year 2030 targets, OpenAI ramp, and debt-raising capability, sets a lower expectations bar.

In addition, the analysts said that a successful $25B debt raise last month with no apparent need for incremental bond issuance in 2026 may ease some potentially overblown Credit Default Swap, or CDS, tracking and related debt rating concerns.

Murphy and his team noted that the upgrade was also based on incremental proof points supporting the ability to accelerate top line rapidly and converge on growth territory while still growing operating income in the double-digits.

However, the analysts did point to some conditions. They said their upgrade was not predicated on the achievability of long-term financial targets; the margin structure of the business does get complicated with material gross margin percentage compression offset by tremendous operating expenditure discipline; and OpenAI (OPENAI) still poses very material Remaining Performance Obligation, or RPO, customer concentration amid a dynamic landscape.

“Coming into Oracle’s FQ3 (February) earnings results, we explicitly stated ‘Don’t Underestimate Oracle’s Resolve to Weather the Current Storm and Show Acceleration’ and emphasized the potential for USD revenue growth to crest above 20% in Q3. Although Q4 guidance came in approximately one percentage point below consensus on total revenue in CC terms, the underlying execution feels net-positive, underpinned by continued OCI momentum and a broadening of the growth algorithm across the business,” said Murphy and his team.

RBC Capital Markets maintained its Sector Perform rating and $160 price target on the stock.

Analysts led by Rishi Jaluria said that Oracle delivered a “solid” fiscal third quarter, as total revenue accelerated to 22% year-over-year while cloud revenue accelerated 44%, driven by 81% constant currency growth in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or OCI, and fiscal year 2027 revenue was raised to $90B.

“With $29B in contracts signed for BOYH/upfront [bring-your-own-hardware/upfront] payment, Oracle is demonstrating its ability to increase capacity without the need for additional financing, which should alleviate some investor concerns. From here, sustained share appreciation likely depends on demonstrating disciplined funding, margin durability, and a visible path to FCF [free cash flow] recovery,” said Jaluria and his team.

Jefferies kept its Buy rating and $320 price target on Oracle’s stock.

“ORCL delivered a strong F3Q, with broad-based upside and the clearest proof yet that its AI infra strategy is scaling into durable backlog and rev. [revenue],” said analyst Brent Thill and his team. “. RPO surged to $553B (+$29B q/q), driven by large, capital-efficient AI contracts. We think risk/reward remains skewed positive with ORCL now compounding total rev & EPS >20%.”

Related stocks: Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), and Salesforce (CRM) were largely flat, while SAP (SAP) dipped about 2% premarket on Wednesday.

The agentic AI solution is designed to provide personalized health information and guidance to patients based on lab results and other medical records accessed through the Health Information Exchange with consent.

Amazon (AMZN) has been able to temporarily stop Perplexity from using its Comet agentic shopping bot from searching and purchasing products on the Amazon (AMZN) platform without navigating the site directly.

A San Francisco court issued a temporary order while both sides argue the legality of using shopping bots to purchase merchandise without consent from the retailer. Additionally, Perplexity is prohibited from accessing password-protected Prime accounts and must destroy copies of Amazon’s data.

Amazon (AMZN) accused the AI startup of committing computer fraud for disguising itself as a human to bypass Amazon’s terms of service and refusing to stop when ordered by the company.

Perplexity argues that because Comet bypasses Amazon’s (AMZN) online advertising and cannibalizes its ad revenue, the issue is more about advertising dollars than security risks.

“AI agents don’t have eyeballs to see the pervasive advertising Amazon bombards its users with,” Perplexity said in its response to Amazon’s lawsuit.

Shopping bots have become much more prevalent and have raised concerns over not just security risks but also lost revenue as a result of apps like Instant Checkout. Despite its beef with Comet, Amazon (AMZN) is exploring AI tools with OpenAI (OPENAI) and other third-party agents.

The court must decide, however, if Amazon’s “terms of service” extends to shopping bots as well as humans. Amazon argues it does not, while Perplexity believes it has the shoppers’ consent to purchase.

“The preliminary injunction will prevent Perplexity’s unauthorized access to the Amazon store and is an important step in maintaining a trusted shopping experience for Amazon customers,” Amazon spokesperson Lara Hendrickson said in an emailed statement to Bloomberg.

MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon (AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos, has cemented her place as one of the most generous philanthropists alive, having given away more than $26B since 2019, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Her most recent disclosure revealed $7.17B in giving over a roughly one-year period ending in December 2025 — her largest single slug yet.

Scott’s approach to philanthropy has been nothing short of transformative for recipients, the Journal said. Native Forward, an Albuquerque-based nonprofit funding scholarships for Native American students, received an initial $20M million gift in 2020, followed by a stunning $50M grant last August. The organization used the funds to create a $40M endowment and expand from serving 800 students to projecting more than 2,000 awards this academic year.

What sets Scott apart from traditional philanthropists is her trust-based approach. Unlike the data-driven, return-on-investment model that has dominated giving in recent decades, Scott’s team operates with minimal strings attached. Michael L. Lomax, CEO of UNCF, which received $80M from Scott, noted the stark difference: “She’s rewriting American philanthropy.”

Scott’s giving process remains deliberately opaque. There is no application process, no public list of advisers, and her team doesn’t engage with media. Recipients often describe shock at receiving unexpected emails from addresses they nearly dismissed as spam. University of Maryland Eastern Shore President Heidi M. Anderson initially trashed several emails before discovering Scott was offering her school $20M.

Despite giving away billions, Scott’s wealth has been difficult to diminish entirely. Amazon’s soaring stock complicated her pledge to give everything away, though her stake’s value dropped to $18.7B by the end of 2025.

Her focus remains on “undersupported causes and people,” spanning equity, education, economic security, and the environment.

According to draft guidelines accessed by the FT, the new rules will require AI companies that want to do business with the federal government to permit “any lawful” use of their models.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth designated Anthropic (ANTHRO) a “Supply-Chain Risk to National Security.”

The General Services Administration, which assists the government in purchasing software, has drawn up new guidance over the past few months as part of a federal effort to enhance the procurement of AI services.

The guidance says that “the contractor must not intentionally encode partisan or ideological judgments into the AI systems data outputs.” It requires companies to provide “a neutral, non-partisan tool that does not manipulate responses in favor of ideological dogmas such as diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

The GSA will be “soliciting further comments” from the industry before finalizing the new guidance, the person said, adding that it is similar to the guideline the Pentagon is drawing up to target military contracts.

GSA’s subsidiary, the Federal Acquisition Service, has inked agreements with leading AI companies, including Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI (OPENAI), Meta (META), xAI (XAI), and Google (GOOG).

The report comes as Anthropic (ANTHRO), a generative AI company backed by Amazon (AMZN) and Alphabet’s (GOOG) (GOOGL) Google, is trying to resolve a standoff that led the Trump administration to label it as a “Supply-Chain Risk” last week.

As energy production remains a key bottleneck in the buildout of data centers for AI workloads on Earth, the idea of launching solar-powered data centers orbiting the planet has started to take shape.

However, BNP Paribas contends current launch costs make any sizable project prohibitive. BNP estimates current launch costs range from $1,500 to $3,600 per kilogram. They believe costs need to fall below $300 per kilogram to make any sizable data center project economically viable.

At current launch costs, a 1-GW space-based data center would require more than $100B. In comparison, a 1-GW terrestrial data center costs $35B to $50B to construct.

“We do not view orbital data centers as a viable near- to medium-term solution to replace terrestrial data centers, due to the significant launch costs, as well as higher hardware costs associated with space-grade systems, including specialized electrical infrastructure and thermal management,” said BNP Paribas analyst Nick Jones. “We estimate launch costs for a 1GW data center would be approximately $30-$75B, in addition to our estimated $50B of costs to construct the satellite fitted with data center components and solar panels.”

If, and when, costs for orbital data centers become viable, BNP Paribas expects companies such as Google (GOOG)(GOOGL), Amazon (AMZN), and Meta (META) to be among the first companies involved in early-stage alpha testing.

“Our analysis suggests that, long-term, the CapEx and OpEx dynamics could bring the economics of orbital data centers closer to parity with terrestrial facilities, provided that innovation continues in ground-link, cooling, and solar-power technologies,” Jones added. “In our view, the primary advantage of locating data centers in space would be the comparatively lower barriers to expanding capacity, since they could sidestep many of the regulatory, zoning, and land-acquisition constraints that affect ground-based sites.”

Several companies have already started exploring the idea. For example, in November 2025, Nvidia-backed (NVDA) Starcloud launched the first Nvidia H100 GPU into space aboard a SpaceX (SPACE) Falcon 9 rocket. The Starcloud-1 satellite weighed about 60 kilograms and was the size of a small refrigerator. Starcloud’s ultimate vision is for a 5-GW orbital data center featuring massive solar and cooling panels. It would measure about 4 kilometers in width and length.

The agentic AI solution is designed to integrate with the electronic health records to automate administrative tasks such as patient verification, scheduling, and documentation, the company said on Thursday.

Amazon Connect Health is specifically tailored to medical settings, applying AI techniques on healthcare-specific datasets and guidelines, according to a statement from Colleen Aubrey, Senior Vice President of AWS Applied AI Solutions.

The company identified the system as the first purpose-built AWS solution for health care providers, and it noted that its primary care chain, One Medical, has already rolled out Amazon Connect Health.

“The results speak for themselves: ambient documentation now spans more than a million visits, with strong clinician adoption and regular weekly usage,” AWS said, adding that One Medical is expanding its use to medical coding to cut the administrative burden further.
