During the fourth quarter, the company recognized an impairment loss of R$157.8M from the Linx divestment and an expense of R$48.5M on account of a settlement related to civil lawsuits.

Adjusted gross profit for the year came in at R$6.32B, up 13.5% year-over-year but less than the R$6.38B expected.

Shares were down 3.41% to $16.45 during Monday after-hours trading.

For the fourth quarter, the company reported an adjusted gross profit of R$1.66B, up 9.1% year-over-year.

Adjusted basic EPS for the quarter was R$2.87, compared to R$2.26 in the same period a year ago.

Revenue rose to R$3.73B from R$3.3B a year ago.

The increase was primarily attributed to enhanced client monetization following repricing initiatives implemented in early 2025 to mitigate interest rate hikes, expansion of active client base, and increasing contribution from credit products.

“The most consequential act of simplification in 2025 was the sale of our software assets, Linx, to TOTVS for more than R$3.0B. We want to be clear about why,” said Former CEO and Incoming Board Chairman Pedro Zinner in the letter to shareholders.

“Our competitive advantages live at a very specific intersection: payments, banking, and credit, all reinforced by proprietary transaction data, deep distribution, disciplined underwriting, and end-to-end technology we control,” said Zinner. “Linx was a good business sitting outside that intersection.”

The current CEO notified the company’s board of his intention to step down from CEO as of March for personal reasons after serving in that role for three years. During his tenure, Zinner executed a strategic pivot, including divesting non-core assets such as Linx, the implementation of streamlining initiatives, the establishment of a disciplined capital allocation framework, and progress in evolving the company from a pure payments provider into a comprehensive financial services platform for Brazilian entrepreneurs, the company said.

The board intends to nominate Zinner for election to the board at the next general shareholders’ meeting. He’s expected to be appointed chairman. The current chairman, Mauricio Luchetti, is expected to return to his role of board member.

Diego Salgado, currently treasury officer and a member of the executive committee, will get expanded responsibilities, including the broader finance agenda and the role of chief financial officer and investor relations officer.

Lia Matos, chief strategy and marketing officer, has decided to leave the company. Sandro Bassili is expected to assume the role of chief operating officer of Stone (STNE).

StoneCo (NASDAQ:STNE) stock rose 4.8% in Thursday after-hours trading after the company’s Q2 results topped consensus estimates and its full-year guidance for adjusted EPS increased.

The Brazilian fintech adjusted its 2025 adjusted gross profit guidance lower to R$6.375B (US$1.17B) from its prior outlook of at least R$7.050B, reflecting share buyback execution and the exclusion of discontinued operations. Its outlook for 2025 adjusted basic EPS, which includes continued and discontinued operations, rose to more than R$9.6 from more than R$8.6 prior, after incorporating H1 results.

Q2 adjusted EPS (basic) of R$2.33 (US$0.43), topping the average analyst estimate of R$2.05, increased from R$1.97 in Q1 and R$1.61 in last year’s Q2. Adjusted gross profit margin edged up to 44.6% from 44.4% in the prior quarter and fell from 47.1% a year ago.

Q2 total revenue and income of R$3.50B, missing the R$3.78B consensus, rose 4.2% Q/Q and 20% Y/Y.

Total payment volume climbed to R$136.3B in the quarter from R$133.5B in the previous quarter and R$126.1 in the year-ago period.

Micro and small- and medium business (“MSMB”) active client base rose 4.8% Q/Q and 17% Y/Y to 4.51M.

Adjusted gross profit declined to R$1.56B from R$1.64B in Q1 and increased from R$1.37B in Q2 2024.

MSMB TPV of R$122.3 climbed 2.3% Q/Q and 12% Y/Y.
