The company said the collaboration is aimed at advancing the state of quantum computing security by analyzing existing commercial quantum computing security practices with an aim to understand what it would take to deploy Zero Trust Architecture, or ZTA, to future quantum computers.

ZTA is a cybersecurity framework based on the principle of never trusting and always verifying.

IonQ noted that it is teaming up with ARLIS on SEQCURE (Securing Experimental Quantum Computing Usage in Research Environments), a program sponsored by the Secretary of the Air Force’s Concepts, Development, and Management Office.

Sentiment was further weighed down by a hotter-than-expected Producer Price Index reading, which stoked inflation concerns, even as the benchmark U.S. 10-year Treasury yield (US10Y) fell below 4% for the first time in three months.

For the week, the S&P (SP500) lost -0.4%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (COMP:IND) dipped -1.0%, and the blue-chip Dow (DJI) fell -1.3%.

Here’s what caught investor attention this week:

Netflix (NFLX) announced that it will not raise its bid for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) after the media giant’s board deemed a sweetened, all‑company takeover offer from Paramount Skydance (PSKY) as “superior.” The streaming company said a higher price for Warner Bros. (WBD) was no longer financially attractive. The revised Paramount (PSKY) offer was at a purchase price of $31.00 per share in cash, a one-dollar increase from its earlier bid, which valued the company at around $108B.

Nvidia (NVDA) shares fell nearly 5.5% Thursday, their worst day since April 16, despite posting blowout earnings. The performance highlights the market’s heightened sensitivity to earnings from large-cap technology companies, particularly those tied to artificial intelligence and data center demand.

Block (XYZ) announced on Thursday that it’s slashing its headcount by more than 40% because intelligent technology means fewer people can do more. The company’s stock jumped 24% with the news. Meanwhile, the company issued strong guidance for 2026 and the first quarter of the year, and Q4 earnings merely matched the Wall Street consensus.

IBM (IBM) plunged more than 13% in a single session on Monday, marking the company’s largest one‑day percentage drop since October 2000. The sharp sell‑off was triggered by investor concerns that Anthropic’s Claude Code tool can automate modernization of COBOL, a legacy programming language heavily tied to IBM’s mainframe business.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) announced a deal with Meta Platforms (META) to deploy up to 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct chips to power Meta’s next generation of AI infrastructure. The companies said the multi-year, multi-generation agreement expands their existing strategic partnership and aligns roadmaps across silicon, systems, and software to deliver AI platforms purpose-built for Meta’s workloads.

Novo Nordisk (NVO) shares fell over 15% on Monday after the company’s next-generation obesity drug CagriSema delivered less weight loss than Eli Lilly’s (LLY) competing treatment in a phase 3 trial, raising new concerns about its sales potential. Patients taking a standard dose of CagriSema lost 20.2% of their body weight after 84 weeks, compared with 23.6% for Lilly’s tirzepatide.

Hims & Hers Health (HIMS) fell after the telehealth company’s guidance fell below the consensus. The telemedicine provider sees Q1 revenue of $600-$625M. Consensus is $652.59M. For full-year 2026, revenue is projected at $2.7B-$2.9B. Consensus is $2.71B.

First Solar (FSLR) fell after the company reported a 2026 net sales forecast which missed the average analyst estimate. The company projected full-year revenues of $4.9B-$5.2B, likely below the $5.2B total for 2025 and far below the $6.16B FactSet analyst consensus estimate, on a volume of 17.0-18.2 GW of modules sold after selling 17.5 GW of modules in FY 2025.

IonQ (IONQ) shares rose after the quantum computing company reported fourth-quarter results that were above Wall Street’s estimates. For the period ending Dec. 31, IonQ said it lost an adjusted $0.20 per share as revenue soared 429% to come in at $61.89M. Analysts had expected the company to lose an adjusted $0.23 per share on $40.3M in revenue.

CoreWeave (CRWV) fell after the AI infrastructure software company reported a bigger-than-expected loss and boosted capital expenditures. For the quarter ended December 31, the hyperscaler reported an adjusted loss per share of $0.89 versus the consensus estimate loss per share of $0.72. For 2026, CapEx is expected in the range of $30B to $35B, with the company planning to double active power capacity to more than 1.7 gigawatts by year-end.

Stock futures clung to the flatline early Thursday as traders assessed Nvidia’s powerhouse Q4 earnings beat, highlighted by massive AI data center demand.

Here are some of Thursday’s biggest stock movers:

Biggest stock gainers

Nutanix (NTNX) +20% – Shares surged despite guiding Q3 revenue ($680-690M) and FY2026 revenue ($2.8-2.84B) below consensus, following strong FQ2 results with $723M revenue (up 10% Y/Y, beat estimates) and ARR up 16% to $2.36B. The rally stemmed from a multi-year strategic partnership with AMD to develop an open, full-stack AI infrastructure platform for agentic AI across data centers, hybrid, and edge environments, integrating AMD EPYC CPUs, Instinct GPUs, ROCm software, and Nutanix’s cloud/Kubernetes platforms. AMD committed a $150M investment in NTNX stock at $36.26/share (closing Q2 2026) plus up to $100M for joint R&D and go-to-market efforts, signaling strong validation and a “halo effect” that overshadowed supply chain headwinds delaying revenue timing. The first joint platform is expected to launch in late 2026.

IonQ (IONQ) +12% – Shares rose after the quantum computing company reported Q4 results that topped Wall Street expectations and issued strong FY2026 guidance, forecasting revenue of $225M–$245M vs. the $192.6M consensus estimate, including $48M–$51M in Q1 sales. The company also projected a full-year adjusted EBITDA loss of $310M–$330M.

Biggest stock losers

C3.ai (AI) -24% – Shares plunged after reporting a quarterly earnings miss and issuing revenue guidance well below expectations, citing weak performance in North America and Europe alongside announced job cuts. The company forecast FQ4 revenue of $48M–$52M, much below the $77.7M consensus, and full-year revenue of $246.7M–$250.7M compared with the $298.7M estimate, while management said cost savings from restructuring are expected to be fully realized beginning in the second half of FY2027.

The Trade Desk (TTD) -17% – Shares tumbled as a soft Q1 outlook overshadowed an earnings beat. The company guided revenue of at least $678M and adjusted EBITDA of about $195M, implying a lower margin and slower start to the year. Net income margin declined to 22% in Q4 from 25% a year ago, while full-year margin slipped to 15% from 16%, and the absence of full-year guidance added to uncertainty around 2026 growth trends.

FQ1 revenue is projected at $11.03-11.08B (above $10.99B consensus) with adjusted EPS of $3.11-3.13 (above $3.02 est.), while the FY2027 revenue outlook of $45.8-46.2B ($46B midpoint, in-line) and adjusted EPS of $13.11-13.19 ($13.15 midpoint, below $13.18 est.) fell short of expectations amid macro headwinds and consumption-based pricing shifts. CEO Marc Benioff highlighted strong AI momentum, with Agentforce ARR reaching $800M (+169% Y/Y), 29,000 deals closed (+50% Q/Q), and a long-term revenue target of $63B by FY3030.

Norges Bank’s investment in IonQ (IONQ) may be the start of active asset managers interest in quantum computing, Wedbush Securities said.

“In addition to meaningfully increasing its initial position in IONQ, we would note Norges also made new investments in RGTI and D-Wave in CQ4, suggesting it sees more than one quantum winner and also likely more than one successful modality in the long-term, a view we would agree with,” analyst Antoine Legault wrote in a note to clients.

Norges Bank is the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world and manages around $2T for Norway. According to its recently filed 13-F, Norges Bank had $200M worth of stock in IonQ, $39M worth of Rigetti, and $4M worth of D-Wave Quantum as of the fourth quarter.

And while the positions are still small compared to the company’s respective market caps and Norges’ total assets under management, Legault said he views it as a “sophisticated” asset manager “making a bet on the long-term potential of the technology.” It could also become the start of other active asset managers going into the space, which has so far been dominated by retail investors and passive asset managers or ETF providers.

“Net, despite the recent volatility seen in quantum computing stocks, we remain constructive on the long-term prospects of the technology and its addressable market, and reiterate our OUTPERFORM ratings on IONQ, RGTI, and QBTS,” Legault added.
