Rivian integrates Apple Music to EVs with software update
Rivian (NASDAQ:RIVN) is offering its electric vehicle owners a quick fix for their Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) cravings with a software update that integrates built-in Apple Music’s Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos to first generation electric vehicles. The service is available to second generation models through a subscription to Connect+.
According to The Verge, all owners of Rivian R1T and R1S vehicles will soon need Connect+ to stream their media apps on the go and to continue using the vehicle’s built in wi-fi hotspot.
As a bridge to the change, the automaker is extending a two-month free trial of Connect+ for all Rivian (RIVN) owners as of Tuesday, August 13. Once the free trial is over, subscribers will have to pay $14.99 a month for Connect+.
Rivian (RIVN) and Apple (AAPL) shares are both up by nearly 2%.
