- Online mental health care provider Talkspace (NASDAQ:TALK) will be available through Amazon Health Services (NASDAQ:AMZN) allowing customers to take advantage of the former’s offerings.
- Talkspace is up ~9% in pre-market trading Tuesday.
- The virtual mental health company offers therapy though video, audio, and online chat, as well as texting. Medication management is also offered through psychiatrists.
- While those who would utilize the service would be required to use their insurance or pay out of pocket, Talkspace says that an insured individual typically pays $30 or less for a therapy appointment.
- Under the arrangement, “Amazon is helping customers discover, determine their eligibility for, and enroll in their Talkspace mental health benefits if they choose to do so,” according to a news release that adds many people aren’t aware that their insurance plan covers virtual mental health services
