AMD releases updates to improve Zen 5 CPU latency: report

- AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) is releasing BIOS updates to improve the performance of its Ryzen 9000-series processors on the Zen 5 desktop following some negative reviews from the gaming community, according to a report by The Verge.
- CPU users reported “higher-than-expected core-to-core latency across the Ryzen 9000-series of desktop processors, and now AMD has addressed this with a new BIOS optimization,” The Verge noted.
- “We also want to acknowledge and thank the reviewer community for all their testing and feedback,” AMD said in a blog post. “Many of their observations are helping accelerate our work developing future AMD Ryzen firmware updates that will benefit Ryzen 9000 users.”
- The updates will appear with Microsoft (MSFT) Windows 11 updates and are intended to optimize Zen 4 and Zen 5 AMD chips.
- AMD shares were down about 0.6% during late morning trading on Monday.
