Exxon Mobil aiming to sell some Bakken shale assets – Reuters
Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM) plans to sell a portion of its assets in North Dakota’s Bakken shale formation, aiming to fetch at least $500M, Reuters reported Tuesday.
Exxon (XOM) is “exploring market interest for select assets in the Bakken Shale Play, which includes approximately 137 operated wells and 676 non-operated and royalty wells across 49K net acres in North Dakota,” a company spokesperson said.
A large portion of the land up for sale is undeveloped, which could make it attractive to potential buyers, the report said.
Exxon (XOM) is one of the top producers in the Bakken, with the company’s total production from the region topping 100K boe/day, according to energy data provider Rextag.
