Emirates is said to order more 777F freighters from Boeing
Emirates plans to expand its fleet of Boeing (NYSE:BA) 777F freighter planes amid an expected jump in cargo traffic, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing industry sources.
The order for more of freighters emerged amid tensions between Dubai-based Emirates and Boeing (BA) over separate delays in plane deliveries. However, the order was placed before Boeing’s (BA) announcement on Friday that its future 777X jetliner series would be pushed back another year to 2026.
Boeing (BA) in September disclosed orders from unnamed buyers of 11 777F freighters, and didn’t provide details. Part of the total included a new order for the 777F from Emirates, Reuters reported. Emirates and Boeing (BA) declined to comment.
