Coinbase to integrate Visa Direct for real-time access to funds
Visa (NYSE:V) said crypto exchange Coinbase Global (COIN) will integrate with the Visa Direct network to allow the exchange’s customers to deposit funds into their accounts in real-time using eligible Visa debit cards.
While millions of Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) users already have debit cards connected to their accounts, the new feature will allow real-time delivery of account funds. With that functionality, Coinbase customers can transfer funds into their accounts in real-time with an eligible Visa debit card, purchase crypto directly with a Visa debit card, and cash out funds from Coinbase into a bank account in real-time.
The two companies also continue to offer a Coinbase Visa debit card for U.S.-based customers.
“Bringing this feature to our customers supports our mission of increasing economic freedom in the world,” said Akash Shah, senior director of Product Management at Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN).
Visa (NYSE:V) stock gained 2.0% in premarket trading on Wednesday after reporting better-than-expected Q4 earnings after Tuesday’s close. Coinbase (COIN) stock fell 1.00%.
