Netflix offices in Paris and Amsterdam raided in tax fraud investigations – reports
According to multiple media reports, offices of Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) were raided in France and the Netherlands as part of a tax fraud investigation. The French paper Marianne reported the news first.
The reports, citing a French judicial source, said PNF investigators raided the U.S. streaming giant’s offices in central Paris Tuesday morning.
The French investigation into the company opened in November 2022 on suspicion of “covering up serious tax fraud and off-the-books work,” the source reportedly said.
At the same time, authorities raided the company’s EU headquarters in Amsterdam. “Cooperation between the French and Dutch authorities has been underway for many months as part of these proceedings,” the source reportedly told the papers.
The investigators are now trying to determine whether the company downplayed its reported profits in the region in an illegal attempt to minimize its taxes.
The investigation is currently in its preliminary stages.
