Tim Cook among tech leaders congratulating Trump on historic win
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Chief Executive Tim Cook was among the tech leaders who congratulated President Trump on Wednesday for his re-election to become the 47th President of the United States.
“Congratulations President Trump on your victory! We look forward to engaging with you and your administration to help make sure the United States continues to lead with and be fueled by ingenuity, innovation, and creativity,” Cook wrote on the social network known as X.
Other tech chieftains took to the platform to send well wishes to President Trump, including Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) (GOOGL) leaders Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai.
“Congratulations President Trump, we’re looking forward to engaging with you and your administration to drive innovation forward that creates new growth and opportunity for the United States and the world,” Nadella wrote.
Pichai echoed those sentiments, especially about American innovation. “Congratulations to President [Donald Trump] on his decisive victory,” Pichai wrote. “We are in a golden age of American innovation and are committed to working with his administration to help bring the benefits to everyone.”
Box (BOX) CEO Aaron Levie, a vocal supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris, also expressed his well-wishes. “Wild ride,” Levie wrote early Wednesday morning. “Congrats to [Donald Trump] on becoming President again. What’s great about America is that we’re on a rocket ship right now and can keep accelerating with the right policies and execution.”
Levie also said that there could be a “major push” to get rid of over-regulation and have a “century of crazy building, innovation, and acceleration” and that he looked forward to Elon Musk’s efforts in this space. Musk, who heads up Tesla (TSLA), SpaceX (SPACE) and generative AI startup xAI, has been a vocal supporter of Trump and Trump has previously said Musk could be a part of his administration in an effort to cut spending and regulations.
Amazon (AMZN) co-founder Jeff Bezos, who has had run-ins with Trump in the past, also congratulated the president-elect. “Big congratulations to our 45th and now 47th President on an extraordinary political comeback and decisive victory,” Bezos wrote. “No nation has bigger opportunities. Wishing [Donald Trump] all success in leading and uniting the America we all love.”
