Monday – December 2
- Volatility watch – Options trading volume is elevated on Vale (VALE) and Galectin Therapeutics (GALT). The most overbought stocks per their 14-day relative strength index include Super Group (SGHC) and Poseida Therapeutics (PSTX). The most oversold stocks per their 14-day Relative Strength Index include Teekay Tankers (TNK) and Imperial Petroleum (IMPP). Short interest is elevated on B. Riley (RILY) and Phathom Pharmaceuticals (PHAT).
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Zscaler (ZS).
- All day – Goldman Sachs Industrials and Materials Conference begins. Companies presenting this week include BorgWarner (BWA), Honeywell (HON) and 3M Co. (MMM). Other notable conferences include the UBS Global Technology and AI Conference with Block (SQ), Visa (V) and Sofi (SOFI) expected to present.
- All day – New York Fed President John Williams speaks in New York and Fed Governor Christopher Waller speaks in Washington DC.
- 10:00 a.m. – US ISM Manufacturing PMI for November.
- 4:30 p.m. – Janux Therapeutics (JANX) interim clinical data for JANX007 to be represented.
Tuesday – December 3
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS), Salesforce (CRM), Marvell (MRVL) Okta Inc. (OKTA), Box (BOX) and Pure Storage (PSTG).
- All day – Citi Basic Materials Conference starts with companies presenting including Alcoa (AA), Air Products (APD) and International Paper (IP) during the week. The Morgan Stanley Global Consumer & Retail Conference also starts and includes Cheesecake Factory (CAKE), Hasbro (HAS) and Skechers (SKX). The Citi Global Healthcare conference starts and includes AbbVie (ABBV), Bristol-Meyers (BMY) and Merck (MRK). The Wells Fargo 8th Annual TMT Summit also takes place and includes KLA Tencor (KLAC), Tenable (TENB) and Silicon Labs (SLAB). UBS is also holding the UBS Global TMT Conference.
- All day – The AWS re:Invent conference in Las Vegas will feature a keynote address on Tuesday from AWS CEO Matt Garman (AMZN). The conference runs from Dec. 1 through Dec 6.
- All day – Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee scheduled to present closing remarks at agriculture conference in Chicago.
- 8:00 a.m. – Aflac (AFL) investor meeting.
- 2:00 p.m. – AT&T (T) investor day.
- 4:30 pm. – API weekly report on US oil inventories.
Wednesday – December 4
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Royal Bank of Canada (RY), Chewy (CHWY), Campbell’s (CPB), Dollar Tree (DLTR), Foot Locker (FL), Hormel Foods (HRL), Five Below (FIVE), American Eagle (AEO), PVH Corp. (PVH), SecureWorks (SCWX) and Synopsys (SNPS).
- All Day – RobinHood (HOOD) investor day.
- All Day – Jinxin Technology Holding (NAMI) is expected to begin trading.
- All Day – Barclays Annual Eat, Sleep, Play, Shop Conference begins. Participating companies include Shake Shak (SHAK) and Cheesecake Factory (CAKE).
- 8:00 a.m. – UnitedHealth (UNH) investor conference.
- 8:15 a.m. – ADP employment data.
- 8:30 a.m. – Edwards Lifesciences (EW) investor meeting.
- 10:00 a.m. – US factory orders for October will be released. US ISM services index for November; US durable goods orders for October.
- 2:00 p.m. – Federal Reserve releases Beige Book.
Thursday – December 5
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include TD Bank (TD), Canadian Imperial Bank (CM), Bank of Montreal (BMO), Dollar General (DG), Kroger (KR), DocuSign (DOCU), Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), HashiCorp (HCP), GitLab (GTLB), Lululemon (LULU), Ulta Beauty (ULTA).
- All day – OPEC+ talks on output.
- 8:30 a.m. – November initial jobless claims.
- 9:00 a.m. – Markforged (MKFG) shareholders vote on sale to Nano Dimension (NNDM).
- 9:00 a.m. – CoStar Group (CSGP) investor day.
- 1:00 p.m. – Tractor Supply (TSCO) investor day.
Friday – December 6
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Genesco (GCO) and Kirkland’s (KIRK).
- All day – The European Commission’s Phase 1 review of Novo Holdings planned purchase of Catalent (CTLT) expires.
- All day – The “go shop” period for Air Transport Services’ (ATSG) sale to Stonepeak expires.
- 8:30 a.m. – The U.S. jobs report for November will be released. Economists expect 200K job additions for the month and for the unemployment rate to hold steady at 4.2%.
- 1:00 p.m. – San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly speaks.
