The third-quarter earnings season had a number of trends across sectors, with one of them being that companies are increasingly focused on generative artificial intelligence and the power needs behind it. With companies looking to get their share of the spending craze, there could be as much as 1,000 megawatts of “unleased” power capacity available, investment firm Mizuho Securities said.
“We believe as much as 800-1,000MW of ‘un-leased’ power capacity is available, enough to support 50-60 new data centers,” analysts at the firm wrote.
As a result, that could lead to more modular data centers in an effort to push AI ramps further, benefiting companies like Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL), Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO), Credo Technologies (CRDO) and Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU), the analysts added.
