Google CEO Pichai set to meet with President-elect Trump: report

Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Chief Executive Sundar Pichai is set to meet with President-elect Donald Trump today, The Information reported.
The topic of the discussion is unclear, but Pichai is not expected to speak with Trump about the tech giant’s ongoing antitrust lawsuit from the Department of Justice or other regulatory issues, the news outlet added, citing a person with knowledge of the meeting. The meeting will take place at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida.
Pichai congratulated Trump last month after he won the U.S. presidential election via phone call and social media. The phone call was joined by tech executive Elon Musk, who has been an instrumental advisor to Trump in recent months.
Last month, the Justice Department confirmed that it’s pushing for the company to divest its dominant Chrome Web browsing software.
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
Earlier on Thursday, President-elect Trump said on CNBC that he would be meeting with Amazon (AMZN) co-founder Jeff Bezos next week.
Trump also said he met recently with Meta Platforms (META) Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg, who reportedly wants an “active role” in the incoming administration’s tech policies.
