- As part of a larger overhaul, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) will rebrand the next iterations of its major operating systems, Bloomberg reported.
- Instead of iOS 18 (the current iteration is known as iOS 17), it will be known as iOS 26, the news outlet added, citing people with knowledge of the matter. The next versions of iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS will get the 26 nomenclature at the end.
- The iPhone maker is changing up the names of the various operating systems for more consistency and remove confusion from developers and customers, the news outlet added.
- Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
- Apple is set to host its annual worldwide developers conference next month, with a keynote address slated for June 9 at 1 p.m. EST.
