Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has agreed to acquire SIPAL’s Integrated Product Support business in Italy, to enhance its engineering services for aerospace and defense clients in Italy and Europe, for an undisclosed sum.
Accenture plans to acquire the segment of SIPAL’s business that provides product engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing support, and training services. The company is based in Turin, with offices throughout Italy.
SIPAL’s Italian IPS business offers engineering services for complex products and systems to major aerospace and defense organizations, supporting their life cycle and national and European defense programs.
Following the close of the acquisition, around 250 engineering professionals from SIPAL’s IPS division will join Accenture’s Industry X, its service for digital engineering and manufacturing, and infrastructure and capital projects.
The move is part of Accenture’s commitment to help companies improve product design, engineering, and manufacturing using technology and skilled talent.
The completion of the acquisition depends on standard closing conditions.
