- Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) TV+ is in position to nab a new streaming package from Major League Baseball, Sports Business Journal reported.
- The tech titan, which already airs Friday Night Baseball, could grab a new Sunday night package that had previously been at ESPN (DIS), the news outlet added, citing its sources.
- NBC, a division of Comcast (CMCSA), has been rumored to bid for all of ESPN’s MLB rights after the sports giant and MLB agreed to end their long-standing partnership after the 2025 season. However, Apple could offer more money to MLB than what NBC could offer, especially if the package was focused on the rights to Sunday night games.
- Apple is widely believed to pay $85M a season for the rights to air Friday Night Baseball on its Apple TV+ streaming service. The deal, which ends in 2028, was announced in 2022 to much fanfare.
- Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
