Stock futures saw a slight uptick on Wednesday morning as investors monitored for potential discussions between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. This comes after President Trump increased tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to 50% from 25%, effective today.

Biggest stock gainers
- Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE:HPE) +5% – Shares soared after the company topped FQ2 estimates and raised the low end of its full-year guidance. For FQ3, HPE expects adjusted EPS of $0.40 to $0.45 (midpoint above the $0.41 consensus) and revenue between $8.2B and $8.5B (vs. $8.22B expected). For FY2026, adjusted EPS is forecast at $1.78 to $1.90, up from a prior range of $1.70 to $1.90 and compared to the $1.80 consensus. Full-year revenue growth is now projected at 7% to 9% in constant currency, narrowing from the earlier 7% to 11% view.
- Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC) +4% – Shares climbed after the Federal Reserve removed the asset cap imposed in 2018, citing the bank’s completion of all required conditions under the consent order. The Fed said it had reviewed Wells Fargo’s remediation efforts, third-party assessments, and conducted its own evaluation of the bank’s corporate governance and enterprise-wide risk management.

CrowdStrike (NASDAQ:CRWD) –6% – Shares plunged after the company reported mixed Q1 results and issued a disappointing outlook, despite strong 20% Y/Y revenue growth. For Q2, the company projected revenue between $1.145B and $1.152B, below the $1.16B consensus. For FY2026, revenue is expected to range from $4.74B to $4.80B, with the $4.77B midpoint falling just short of the $4.79B estimate. On a positive note, CrowdStrike forecasts FY2026 adjusted EPS of $3.44 to $3.56, with the $3.50 midpoint exceeding the $3.46 consensus.
