- AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) is continuing its acquisition barrage, having acqui-hired the team behind AI inference processor startup, Untether AI, CRN reported.
- “AMD has entered into a strategic agreement to acquire a talented team of AI hardware and software engineers from Untether AI,” an AMD spokesperson told the news outlet. “The transaction brings a world-class team of engineers to AMD, focused on advancing the company’s AI compiler and kernel development capabilities as well as enhancing our digital and SoC design, design verification, and product integration capabilities. We are excited to welcome the team’s unique expertise to AMD.”
- Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
- The Untether AI acquisition is the third for AMD in the last several days. Late last month, AMD said it purchased silicon photonics company Enosemi to boost its co-packaging and artificial intelligence prowess. Earlier this week, AMD disclosed it had purchased open source software company Brium to further its artificial intelligence prowess.
