Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) and Samsung (OTCPK:SSNLF) will make minority investments in Skild AI, a U.S.-based robotics software startup, as part of a broader push to their emerging robotics segments, Bloomberg reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) is investing $25 million, while Samsung (OTCPK:SSNLF) is contributing $10 million to the Series B funding round, which is being led by a $100 million commitment from Japan’s SoftBank Group. This latest funding round values Skild AI at approximately $4.5 billion, teh report said.
Skild AI is a Pittsburgh-based startup known for its advanced software that powers robotic systems, enabling robots to learn and adapt across various industries.
Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) that is already a key player in AI chips, sees robotics as a major future revenue driver and has previously invested in companies like Figure AI and Serve Robotics.
Samsung (OTCPK:SSNLF) owns stakes in Rainbow Robotics and Physical Intelligence, is taking a measured approach, using the Skild deal to keep a tab on innovation and other competitors.
