Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) has announced a new global initiative to help smaller companies sell emerging technology, including artificial intelligence, to defense customers.

The Oracle Defense Ecosystem is designed to address challenges faced by national security teams in accessing the latest cloud and AI technologies. Challenges include complex procurement processes, strict qualification standards, and the relationship networks required to gain admission into the Defense Industrial Base.

The new ecosystem will leverage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, which is trusted by the defense and government sector and meets strict compliance requirements.

“Oracle and our defense ecosystem plans to innovate and scale to help the U.S. and its allies deter conflicts and win on physical and digital battlefields,” said Rand Waldron, the company’s vice president.

Vendors in the ecosystem will be able to tap Oracle’s (NYSE:ORCL) expertise in navigating defense procurement processes, access secure office space, and work with Oracle’s sales team. They can also access Palantir Technologies’ (PLTR) cloud and AI platform, and get a discount for Oracle NetSuite.

Initial members of the ecosystem include Arqit Quantum (ARQQ), Blackshark.ai, Entanglement, Fenix Group [now part of Nokia Federal Solutions], Koniku, Kraken (OTCQB:KRKNF), Mattermost, Metron, SensusQ, and Whitespace.

“In many cases, these companies are or will become customers of Oracle,” Waldron told The Wall Street Journal. “They will make a sale to the government, and then they will run the system that they have sold to the government on the Oracle Cloud.”
