Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) has signed four new clean energy agreements with renewable energy developer Invenergy, securing an additional 791 megawatts of solar and wind power for its data centers, the companies announced Thursday.
The electricity from Invenergy’s projects in Ohio, Arkansas and Texas will be delivered to the local grid, while Meta will receive the clean energy credits associated with the new generation capacity coming online.
The latest deals nearly double the total amount of clean energy procured between Meta and Invenergy, building on a 2024 agreement that secured 1,000 MW of power.
These agreements are part of Meta’s broader push to meet the rapidly growing energy needs of its data centers—driven by the expansion of artificial intelligence technologies—while staying aligned with its clean energy goals.
