Siemens (OTCPK:SIEGY) (OTCPK:SMAWF) appointed Vasi Philomin as executive vice president and head of Data & Artificial Intelligence, effective July 1.
Philomin previously served as a vice president and general manager of Generative AI at Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) where he led Amazon Web Services’ AI product strategy, according to Philomin’s LinkedIn profile. He also helped built AWS’ AI cloud service Bedrock.
The German company said Philomin will accelerate the development and growth of its comprehensive AI portfolio to create additional customer value.
Siemens noted that it is scaling its AI-powered offerings, which currently includes 35 applications, including Industrial Copilot.
Siemens added that under Philomin, the company will also develop an industrial foundational model that delivers industrial-grade AI for customers which is designed to be safe, secure, reliable, and trustworthy.
Philomin will report directly to Peter Koerte, member of the managing board, chief technology officer and chief strategy officer, Siemens.
