Walmart (NYSE:WMT) announced on Monday that it will run a summer savings again. The Walmart Deals event will start online at 12 a.m. ET on Tuesday, July 8, and in stores at local opening times, Walmart Deals will run through Sunday, July 13, giving customers six full days of low-price deals.
The retail giant said the deal will run from tech upgrades to dorm-ready must-haves and school supplies to self-care staples. The thousands of deals will run across the electronics, home, fashion, toys, beauty, and back-to-school categories. Brands such as Samsung (OTCPK:SSNLF), Vizio, Dyson, Sharpie, and more will be included.
For the first time, Walmart Deals will be available both in stores and online, offering more flexibility for customers. “With Walmart’s upgraded app and AI-powered site experience, customers can find what they need faster — and discover new favorites along the way,” previewed the company.
Walmart’s (NYSE:WMT) major sales events, now known as Walmart Deals or previously Deals for Days, are a relatively recent addition to the retailer’s promotional calendar. The events were developed in response to Amazon’s (AMZN) Prime Day, which launched in 2015 and quickly became a major annual sales driver for online retail.
Shares of Walmart (WMT) gained 1.0% in afternoon trading on Monday. The stock is up 7.4% on a year-to-date basis.
