Capital One Financial’s (NYSE:COF) stress capital buffer requirement improved this year, it said on Tuesday, as part of the Federal Reserve’s annual Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review of banks.
The lender’s SCB was revised to 4.5%, effective Oct. 1, 2025, from last year’s 5.5%, which will stay in effect through the end of Q3 2025.
The preliminary SCB requirement has been calculated under the Fed’s current framework, and does not reflect a proposal that would average stress test results over two consecutive years for purposes of determining the SCB.
COF shares inched down 0.1% in after-hours trading.
