Coupang (NYSE:CPNG) announced the rebranding of its AI cloud computing service as Coupang Intelligent Cloud. The South Korean e-commerce juggernaut said Coupang Intelligent Cloud represents the evolution of its AI infrastructure.
It was highlighted by Coupang (NYSE:CPNG) that over the years it has extensively utilized its AI computing infrastructure to enhance its services and operations and also provides GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS), including to external parties.
Coupang Intelligent Cloud data centers, which are located in Seoul, South Korea and the greater metropolitan area, are equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure. The facilities were highlighted as featuring high-capacity power systems, advanced cooling technologies, redundant power architecture, multi-network support, and robust physical security, which are seen helping to ensure stable operations.
Analysts have noted that Coupang’s (CPNG) participation in government-led GPU infrastructure projects signals its ambitions to become a significant cloud service provider, beyond its core e-commerce business.
Shares of Coupang (CPNG) are up 36.2% on a year-to-date basis and trade very close to their 52-week high. Coupang (CPNG) is expected to report second quarter earnings sometime during the first week of August.
