Ford Motor (NYSE:F) has announced a field service action involving fuel injectors in certain 2021–2024 Bronco Sport, 2020–2022 Escape, and 2019–2024 Kuga models.
The estimated cost of the action is approximately $570 million, based on current remedy options under evaluation. This expense will be reflected in Ford’s second-quarter 2025 results and treated as a special item.
As such, it will not affect the company’s adjusted EBIT, adjusted earnings per share, or adjusted free cash flow.
The action expands on previous recalls from 2022 and 2024, which provided software updates but did not replace the potentially faulty injectors.
Within the last four weeks, Ford (NYSE:F) has raised three major safety issues with its vehicles: A door locking issue for its Mustang Mach-E; and failure in the low-pressure fuel pump for more than 850K vehicles that could lead to engine stalling.
Earlier today, the automaker recalled 694,271 vehicles in the U.S. over a fuel leak issue that could increase the risk of a fire.
