Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is enjoying the spotlight after its hit show Severance snagged the most number of nominations for the upcoming Emmy Awards, which will honor artistic achievements in the television industry.
The second season of Severance has secured 27 nominations, including for outstanding drama series and in nine performance categories. The comedy series The Studio, starring Seth Rogen, received 23 nominations for Apple.
When looking at the overall figures across various platforms, HBO Max (NASDAQ:WBD) leads the race with 142 Emmy nominations. The Penguin received the second-highest number of nominations at 24, including for outstanding limited series. Nominations from The White Lotus and The Last Of Us helped boost HBO Max’s total
In second place, Disney (NYSE:DIS) managed to bag a total of 137 nominations across its networks and streaming platforms.
Andor, which streams on Disney+, has 14 nominations, including for outstanding drama series, and FX’s The Bear, starring Jeremy Allen White, has 13, including for outstanding comedy series.
Streaming giant Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) came in third and netted 120 nominations across 44 titles. Adolescence has 10 nominations, including for outstanding limited series. Season seven of Charlie Brooker’s mind-bending and dark thriller series Black Mirror received 10 nominations.
Apple TV+ in total has 81 award nominations spread across 14 original titles for this year’s Emmys. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Television Group (NASDAQ:WBD) received 60 nominations, the most for a TV studio this year.
