Boeing (NYSE:BA) engineers late Tuesday confirmed that the ninth and tenth O3b mPOWER satellites, built for global satellite operator SES, were successfully launched aboard a SpaceX (SPACE) Falcon 9 rocket and are now transmitting signals from orbit.
The satellites lifted off at 5:12 p.m. ET and were deployed approximately two hours later, marking another milestone in expanding SES’s high-performance medium Earth orbit constellation, Boeing (NYSE:BA) said in a statement.

Engineers at Boeing’s (BA) Mission Control Center in El Segundo, California, initiated a series of health checks immediately following separation from the launch vehicle.
The new satellites are equipped with advanced xenon thrusters and will now embark on a 130-day journey to their operational orbit approximately 8,000 kilometers above Earth. Once there, they will join the existing eight satellites in SES’s O3b mPOWER constellation, which began commercial service in April 2024.
The O3b mPOWER constellation aims to provide fiber-like internet connectivity from space, with reliability and security built for commercial and government customers alike, Boeing (BA) said in a statement.
