Amedisys (NASDAQ:AMED) rose 1.4% after the company and UnitedHealth (NYSE:UNH) agreed to a settlement with the Dept. of Justice over its plans to block the combination.
The settlement was revealed in a court filing on Thursday. Terms of the settlement weren’t disclosed.
In November, the DOJ filed a lawsuit to challenge Amedisys’ (NASDAQ:AMED) $101 a share sale to UnitedHealth (NYSE:UNH).The DOJ and four states filed a lawsuit to block the deal.
The settlement comes as the DOJ and the companies were scheduled to go to court soon over the DOJ’s plan to block the combination.
