AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) is trying to sell its Mexico unit and wants to get more than $2 billion for the business. Shares of AT&T edged higher by 0.6%.
Deliberations are ongoing and no final decisions have been made, according to a Bloomberg report on Thursday, which cited people familiar with the matter.
AT&T entered Mexico in 2014 when it agreed to purchase Grupo Iusacell SA from billionaire Ricardo Salinas for $2.5 billion. It also acquired NII Holdings Inc.’s Mexican wireless operations for $~1.9 billion.
AT&T declined to comment to Bloomberg.
