Stock index futures rose on Friday, with Dow futures leading the charge, as UnitedHealth got a boost after Berkshire Hathaway disclosed that it acquired a new stake in the company. Investors also looked forward to Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin’s meeting later in the day. Here are four stocks to watch on Friday:
Hims & Hers Health (HIMS) shares were down 2.7% in premarket trade as the FTC said it is investigating the firm over some of its business practices, including whether the telemedicine company makes it too difficult to cancel subscriptions. While the probe itself was disclosed by the company in July 2024, a new report from Bloomberg is the first time details of it have been disclosed.
Meta (META) shares will be under watch as two Republican U.S. senators have called for a congressional probe into the firm following a report on an internal policy document that allowed AI chatbots to “engage a child in conversations that are romantic or sensual.”
Nucor (NUE) was up 5% before the opening bell after Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway took new stakes in Nucor (NUE) with 6.61M shares ($856.8M).
Joby Aviation (JOBY) shares were up 10.4% in extended trade after the company announced it had successfully completed a test flight between two airports within FAA-controlled airspace. This achievement is considered a major advance to the company’s commercial market readiness and its efforts to gain FAA certification as a passenger air taxi.
