Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) said on Thursday that its AI Mode on its ubiquitous search engine will now be available around the globe, coming to 180 different countries and territories.
The AI Mode, which initially launched in the U.S., before expanding to India and the U.K., will be available in English first. It will be available in other languages “soon,” Google said, though it did not offer a timeframe.
In addition, AI Mode now incorporates the ability for users to send links, the tech giant added.
“Just tap the ‘Share’ button and your contacts can jump into the AI Mode response right where you left off, ask follow-up questions and continue exploring on their own,” Google said in a blog post. “This can be particularly helpful for tasks you want to collaborate on, like planning a trip or a birthday party. As the sender, you are always in control of your shared links and can delete them at any time.”
The company is also adding agentic capabilities to AI Mode, which includes tasks such as finding restaurant reservations. Other tasks, such as local service appointments and event tickets, will come later, Google added.
Google shares fell 0.5% in premarket trading on Thursday.
