Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) CEO Sundar Pichai said the tech giant will invest $9B in Virginia through 2026 for its artificial intelligence and cloud initiatives.
“This will go towards building a new data center in Chesterfield County and expanding our existing facilities in Loudoun and Prince William Counties,” Pichai wrote in a post on X.
The company added in a blog post that it “equipping Virginians with AI and job-ready skills, at no cost.”
Alphabet shares closed fractionally higher on Wednesday. They have gained slightly more than 9% year-to-date.
