Comcast NBC Universal (NASDAQ:CMCSA) will now offer its Peacock Premium Plus streaming service on Amazon’s (AMZN) Prime Video platform.
Prime members can stream ad-free Peacock programs for $16.99 per month, or $169.99 annually, the same price if going directly through Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA).
The two also renewed distribution deals for access to Peacock on Amazon’s (AMZN) Fire TV devices, films from the Universal Pictures library, and Prime Video on Comcast’s (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Xfinity X1 platform. Subscribers will also have access to NBA games beginning this fall thanks to a $76M deal between the league and Comcast (CMCSA), Amazon (AMZN) and Disney (DIS).
“Adding Peacock to our growing list of subscriptions – while renewing our long-standing agreements for Fire TV, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, and Xfinity X1 – deepens an incredible working relationship with Comcast/NBC Universal, and we look forward to a future of mutual distribution that benefits our shared customers,” said Mike Hopkins, the head of Amazon’s Prime Video and MGM Studio units in a statement.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
