- Ed Davey, who leads Britain’s Liberal Democrats, the country’s third-largest party in parliament, said Monday that the U.K. government should consider placing sanctions on Musk for his behavior. Davey also called for Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch to denounce Musk.
“This attempt to endanger public safety and meddle in our politics must be met with clarity and resolve,” Davey said, according to The Guardian.
“Put party politics aside and join me in publicly condemning these dangerous remarks, and to jointly consider what sanctions Elon Musk should face as a consequence,” Davey added.
- Meanwhile, the office for U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who leads Britain’s Labour Party, has called Musk’s remarks “dangerous,” according to the U.K. press.
“The UK is a fair, tolerant and decent country. The last thing the British people want is this sort of dangerous and inflammatory language,” Starmer’s spokesperson told reporters on Monday.
- President Trump is calling for an end to quarterly reports, asserting that financial statements should be made biannually instead.
“Subject to SEC Approval, Companies and Corporations should no longer be forced to ‘Report’ on a quarterly basis (Quarterly Reporting!), but rather to Report on a ‘Six (6) Month Basis.’ This will save money, and allow managers to focus on properly running their companies. Did you ever hear the statement that, ‘China has a 50 to 100 year view on management of a company, whereas we run our companies on a quarterly basis???’ Not good!!!,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday.
