Vietnamese budget carrier Vietjet announced Monday it received its first Boeing (NYSE:BA) 737-8 aircraft, the initial delivery from a $32 billion agreement covering 200 jets.
The handover took place in Seattle during a ceremony attended by Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, who is in the United States for the UN General Assembly.
According to the airline, the fleet expansion is part of its broader strategy to grow its international route network.
