Turkish Airlines to buy 225 Boeing aircraft, subject to engine talks

  • Turkish Airlines said on Friday that it has decided to buy 75 aircraft from Boeing (NYSE:BA). The purchase order consists of 50 firm orders and 25 option orders for B787-9 and B-787-10 models.
  • The airline said that it has also completed its negotiations with Boeing for the purchase of a total of 150 aircraft, out of which 100 are firm and 50 are option orders for 737-8/10 MAX models.
  • The orders for the 737-8/10 MAX models will be placed once the airline concludes its ongoing discussions with engine manufacturer CFM International.
