U.S. President Donald Trump has demanded Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) fire Lisa Monaco, its president of global affairs, deeming she is a “menace to U.S. national security.”
Microsoft hired Monaco for the role in June. She previously served as deputy attorney general in the Biden Administration and as homeland security advisor during the Obama Administration.
“Monaco has been shockingly hired as the President of Global Affairs for Microsoft, in a very senior role with access to Highly Sensitive Information,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Friday afternoon. “Monaco’s having that kind of access is unacceptable, and cannot be allowed to stand. She is a menace to U.S. National Security, especially given the major contracts that Microsoft has with the United States Government.”
Trump accused Monaco of being involved in “deep state conspiracies,” such as “RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, the January 6th Hoax, the Illegal Raid on Mar-a-Lago, the Biden ‘Autopen’ Scandal, the Documents Witch Hunt, and more!”
He said she recently lost all federal security clearances and has been banned from all federal properties.
“It is my opinion that Microsoft should immediately terminate the employment of Lisa Monaco,” he added.
In March, the Trump Administration rescinded security clearances and access to classified information on a number of individuals, including Monaco, Antony Blinken, Jacob Sullivan, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Andrew Weissmann, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Cheney, Kamala Harris, Adam Kinzinger, Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and any other member of Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s family.
