Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has released the Gemini 2.5 Computer Use model, which is now available for developers to access via the Gemini API, the company announced on its blog on Tuesday.
The new specialized model is built on Gemini 2.5 Pro’s visual understanding and reasoning capabilities, which Google said powers AI agents that are capable of interacting with user interfaces.
Google claims the new model outperforms leading alternatives on multiple web and mobile control benchmarks with lower latency.
The tech giant said the model is primarily optimized for web browsers and also demonstrates strong promise for mobile UI control tasks, although it is not yet optimized for desktop OS-level control.
The model is now available in public preview, accessible via the Gemini API on Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, the company said.
