Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is developing a touch-screen version of its MacBook Pro that it might release by late 2026 or early 2027, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The new laptops, which are code-named K114 and K116, will be thinner and lighter than current versions and feature the next-generation M6 chips, according to the report, citing people familiar with the product. The new computers will utilize OLED technology, which is the same as that found in iPhones and iPad Pros.
Rumors of Apple developing a touch-screen MacBook Pro have been circulating for at least two years.
On Wednesday, Apple revealed its latest iPad Pro, MacBook Pro and Vision Pro, which are all powered by its M5 chip. These will be generally available on October 22.
It was also reported on Wednesday that Apple plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Vietnam to build the next generation of smart home devices, including a tabletop robot. The buzz is that a tabletop robot product for consumers could launch around 2027.
