Monday – October 27
- Volatility watch – Inhibrx Biosciences (INBX) and Deckers Outdoor (DECK) are set up for a volatile week of trading based on options volume. The most overbought stocks per their 14-day relative strength index include Investview (OTCQB:INVU), Armata Pharmaceuticals (ARMP), and Tourmaline Bio (TRML). The most oversold stocks per their 14-day Relative Strength Index include Integer (ITGR), Ready Capital (RC), and United Homes Group (UHG). Beyond Meat (BYND) and Kohl’s (KSS) head into the week with a high level of short interest outstanding and social media buzz active.
- IPO watch – Companies expected to price their IPOs and begin trading next week include clinical-stage biopharmaceutical firm MapLight Therapeutics (MPLT), HW Electro KK (HWEP), and travel tech company Navan (NAVN).
- Dividend watch – Companies that have an ex-dividend date coming next week include Realty Income (O), Morgan Stanley (MS), Cal-Maine (CALM), and Citizens Financial (CFG).
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Welltower (WELL), NXP Semiconductors (NXPI), and Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP).
Tuesday – October 28
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Visa (V), UnitedHealth (UNH), Booking Holdings (BKNG), Royal Caribbean (RCL), United Parcel Service (UPS), Mondelez International (MDLZ), and PayPal (PYPL). Options trading implies a double-digit move for Bloom Energy (BE) and Wayfair (W) when they report.
- All day – The three-day Adobe (ADBE) MAX 2025 Creativity Conference in San Francisco will bring together designers, illustrators, photographers, social media creators, and innovators. Nvidia (NVDA), Amazon (AMZN), and Dell Technologies (DELL) are some of the notable companies participating.
- All day – The Ira Sohn San Francisco conference will take place. The conference has led to share price jumps for some stocks in the past after hedge funds made pitches.
- All day – Walmart (WMT) will participate in the RBC Capital Markets Consumer Investor Relations Investor Day.
- 9:00 a.m. The S&P/Case-Shiller House Price Index will be released.
- 2:00 p.m. Liquidia Corporation (LQDA) will host a Research & Development Day.
Wednesday – October 29
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOG), Meta Platforms (META), Caterpillar (CAT), Boeing (BA), and Verizon (VZ). Options trading implies a double-digit move for Carvana (CVNA) and Centene (CNC) after they report.
- 2:00 p.m. The Federal Reserve will make its monetary policy announcement.
- 2:30 p.m. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will hold a press conference.
Thursday – October 30
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN), Eli Lilly (LLY), Mastercard (MA), Merck (MRK), Altria (MO), Comcast (CMCSA), and Gilead Sciences (GILD). Options trading implies a double-digit share price move for Shake Shack (SHAK) and Roblox (RBLX) after they report.
- All day – The 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit will kick off in Gyeongju, South Korea, bringing together leaders from the 21 Pacific Rim economies for critical discussions on trade, technology, and regional cooperation. President Trump and President Xi Jinping are expected to meet face-to-face to address trade disputes.
- All day – Shareholders with Core Scientific (CORZ) will vote on the $9 billion acquisition offer from CoreWeave (CRWV).
- All day – Honeywell (HON) will officially spin off its advanced materials business, which will become a standalone publicly traded company named Solstice Advanced Materials (SOLSV). All Honeywell shareholders of record as of October 17 will receive one share of Solstice for every four shares of Honeywell they hold.
- 7:15 a.m. The European Central Bank will release its monetary policy statement. ECB officials will also hold a press conference
- 5:00 p.m. Amazon (AMZN) will hold its earnings conference call. Some of the major topics will be AWS demand trends, AI initiatives, advertising and retail margins, the holiday sales outlook, and plans with further automation and robots. Major Amazon suppliers Aterian (ATER) and Credo Technology (CRDO) have traded directionally with Amazon on its earnings day over the last two years. Macy’s (M) and Best Buy (BBY) also have a very high trading correlation with Amazon on earnings day.
Friday – October 31
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Exxon Mobil (XOM), AbbVie (ABBV), Chevron (CVX), and Charter Communications (CHTR).
- All day – The core PCE price index report for September will be released. The Fed’s favored inflation gauge was up 2.9% in both August and July.
