Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) and Deutsche Telekom AG (OTCQX:DTEGY) (OTCQX:DTEGF) are getting ready to announce plans for a €1B data center in Germany in a broader push for developing more infrastructure across Europe to power AI systems, according to Bloomberg on Monday.
The companies will contribute funding for the $1.2B project, sources told Bloomberg, and SAP SE (SAP), Europe’s biggest software company, will serve as a customer of the facility.
The report said Deutsche Telekom Chief Executive Officer Tim Höttges, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, SAP CEO Christian Klein, and German digital minister Karsten Wildberger were expected to announce the plans at an event in Berlin next month.
The companies plan to build the operation in Munich, one source told the news outlet, and the project will make use of an estimated 10,000 advanced chips, or graphics processing units.
