Energy Transfer, Entergy sign 20-year Louisiana gas transport deal

Energy Transfer (ET) and Entergy (ETR) said Tuesday they signed a 20-year natural gas firm transportation agreement to deliver energy to support development in north Louisiana.

Under the agreement, Energy Transfer (ET) initially will provide 250,000 MMBtu/day beginning in February 2028 and continuing through January 2048, with an option to Entergy (ETR) to expand delivery capacity in the region to meet future energy demand.

Entergy (ETR) said the natural gas supply will help fuel its combined-cycle combustion turbine facilities, which are being developed to support projects such as Meta’s new hyperscale data center.

The project includes expanding Energy Transfer’s (ET) Tiger Pipeline with the construction of a 12-mile lateral with a capacity of up to 1 Bcf/day.
