Ethiopian Airlines agreed to purchase 11 additional Boeing (BA) 737 Max aircraft, expanding its order book for the single-aisle jet as the carrier continues to build out its regional and international networks. The commitment, signed at the Dubai Airshow, covers 11 737-8 models, Boeing (BA) announced.
The Addis Ababa–based airline already operates the largest Boeing (BA) fleet in Africa and holds the continent’s biggest backlog of 737 Max, 777X and 787 aircraft. The new order is intended to support future growth from its hub, where the carrier aims to increase frequencies and expand destinations across Africa, the Middle East, India and Southern Europe.
