- Take-Two Interactive (TTWO) CEO Strauss Zelnick the video game industry is moving towards PC-based gaming and away from consoles.
“I think it’s moving towards PC and business is moving towards open rather than closed,” Zelnick told CNBC on Monday. “But if you define console as the property, not the system, then the notion of a very rich game that you engage in for many hours that you play on a big screen — that’s never going away.”
- Amazon (AMZN) founder and Executive Chairman Jeff Bezos will serve as co-CEO of a new AI startup called Project Prometheus.
Project Prometheus has already raised $6.2 billion in funding, some of which was contributed by Bezos. The company will be “focusing on A.I. with real-world applications, including engineering and manufacturing in fields like computers, aerospace, and automobiles,” according to The New York Times.
Bezos will serve as co-CEO with former Google (GOOGL) (GOOG) executive Vik Bajaj, who also co-founded AI-focused Foresite Labs, an affiliate of life sciences VC group Foresite Capital, according to TechCrunch.
Bezos stepped down as CEO of Amazon in July 2021. He also founded space technology company Blue Origin and is the owner of The Washington Post.
