John Hegeman, the longtime Meta Platforms (META) executive who was appointed chief revenue officer in December, is leaving the company, according to a report by Bloomberg on Tuesday.
Hegeman, who has been with the social media and tech giant for 17 years, is leaving to start his own company, a Meta spokesperson told Bloomberg. His key responsibilities will fall to another veteran exec, Andrew Bocking.
Bocking, who has been at Meta over a decade and most recently ran the advertising product group, will now lead all advertising and business messaging, which makes up the vast majority of the company’s business, the report said.
Clara Shih, who joined Meta last November to lead the company’s Business AI unit, is also departing due to the unexpected death of her father this year, a company spokesperson told Bloomberg.
Naomi Gleit, who is the longest-tenured Meta employee outside of CEO Mark Zuckerberg, will take over Shih’s business AI group and other “new monetization” products, including Business AI messaging and Meta Verified, the report said.
Guy Rosen, who’s led the company’s “integrity” work, is taking on a new role focused on incorporating AI into Meta’s business operations, the report said.
Rosen will keep his other role as chief information security officer but hand off “integrity” efforts—which include fighting issues from foreign influence campaigns to child pornography—to a deputy, Nima Khajehnouri, the report said.
Gleit, who also oversees Meta’s integrity group, will have Rosen and Khajehnouri report to her.
