Alibaba starts selling Quark AI glasses in China, enters wearable race

China’s e-commerce giant Alibaba (BABA) has started selling its Quark AI smart glasses, powered by the Qwen and Quark’s multimodal AI model, marking its entry into the consumer wearable tech segment.

The Quark S1 is designed with translucent displays that place digital layers over real-world views and includes built-in translucent micro-OLED displays for contextual information. It is equipped with cameras, bone conduction, microphones, and swappable batteries that are built to last up to 24 hours.
Alongside the S1, which starts at 3,799 yuan ($537), Alibaba (BABA) offers a 1,899-yuan Quark G1 model. Both are available now via Alibaba’s Tmall, JD.com, Douyin, and over 600 stores in 82 Chinese cities, with international versions planned for 2026 on platforms like AliExpress, according to a Bloomberg report.

The release extends Alibaba’s (BABA) AI push following the Qwen app’s 10 million users and integration into its Quark browser. This positions the company against Meta (META) in the wearables market.
