Walmart (WMT) announced that it had its biggest Black Friday and Cyber Monday in its history. Top-selling items during the shopping holiday included Apple AirPods Gen 4, large-screen Vizio and Hisense 4K TVs, men’s Wrangler denim, tires, and Pokémon cards.
The retail giant pointed to record-fast fulfillment, strong demand in key categories, and growing use of digital tools to enhance shopping. Walmart’s (WMT) same-day delivery network was noted to now reach about 95% of the U.S. population, driving a 57% year-over-year increase in Black Friday orders from stores and a 44% increase in orders delivered in under three hours, with the fastest order arriving in just 10 minutes.
Marketplace sellers on the Walmart (WMT) app set a new single-day conversion record, with strong demand for items such as PlayStation 5 consoles and Labubus products. Walmart (WMT) also spotlighted its Sparky Generative AI assistant, which customers used for product comparisons, party planning, and personalized gift inspiration, as well as heavy in-store use of the Walmart app, which the company says correlates with roughly 25% higher spending per trip.
Walmart (WMT) is extending many of its Cyber Monday deals to December 7.
Notably, Walmart (WMT) rose to a new all-time high of $111.76 on Monday. Shares trickled lower to $111.45 in the premarket session on Tuesday.
