I (BRR), Twin Hospitality Group (TWNP), and Nutanix (NTNX). Traders have their eyes on highly shorted iRobot (IRBT) and Serve Robotics (SERV) amid the flurry of robotics announcements from the White House.
- IPO watch – Companies expected to price their IPOs and begin trading next week include Cardinal Infrastructure Group (CDNL), Lumexa Imaging Holdings (LMRI), and Wealthfront Corp. (WLTH). The IPO lock-up period expires on certain blocks of shares of Voyager Technologies (VOYG) and AIRO Group (AIRO).
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Toll Brothers (TOL).
- Dividend watch – Companies that have an ex-dividend date coming next week include Analog Devices (ADI), Albemarle (ALB), UnitedHealth Group (UNH), and Garmin (GRMN).
- All week – Notable investor conferences during the week include the Barclays Global TMT Conference, Raymond TMT and Consumer Conference, KeyBanc Capital Markets Consumer Conference, ROTH Deer Valley Conference, and Goldman Sachs U.S. Financial Services Conference. The healthcare sector will have its eyes on the American Society of Hematology Meeting, which will include presentations by Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), and Merck (MRK).
- All day – John Deere (DE) will hold its Analyst Day event. Jefferies expects the company’s update on capital discipline and growth optionality to be the key part of the presentation by management.
- 8:15 a.m. Golden Globe nominations will be announced amid a media landscape being rocked by the announcement that Netflix (NFLX) will acquire Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) for $72 billion.
- 11:00 a.m. The Android Show | XR Edition will be a 30-minute Android XR-focused livestream highlighting all things XR across glasses, headsets, and related form factors, with a heavy emphasis on Gemini-powered experiences. The event is positioned as Google’s (GOOG) (GOOGL) main showcase for new Android XR platform capabilities following the commercial launch of Samsung’s (OTCPK:SSNLF) Galaxy XR headset in the fall.
Tuesday – December 9
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Autozone (AZO), Casey’s General Stores (CASY), SailPoint (SAIL), and Campbell’s Company (CPB). Options trading implies a double-digit move for GameStop (GME) and AeroVironment (AVAV) after they report.
- All day – Notable investor events include Home Depot’s (HD) Investor and Analyst Conference, Graham Holdings’ (GHC) Investor Day, The Andersons’ (ANDE) Investor Day, CVS Health’s (CVS) Investor Day, Elanco’s (ELAN) Investor Day, Ligand Pharmaceuticals’ (LGND) Investor Day, and an investor update from GE Vernova (GEV).
- 9:00 a.m. Exxon Mobil (XOM) will hold a webcast for senior leadership to provide an overview of the updated corporate plan.
Wednesday – December 10
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Oracle (ORCL), Adobe (ADBE), Chewy (CHWY), and Vail Resorts (MTN). Options trading implies a double-digit move for Planet Labs (PL) and Oxford Industries (OXM) after they report.
- All day – Shareholders with Electronic Arts (EA) will vote on the $55 billion acquisition offer from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The deal is considered the largest leveraged buyout in history.
- All day – United Natural Foods (UNFI) will hold an Investor Day event.
- 8:30 a.m. Coinbase Global (COIN) CFO Alesia Haas will participate in a fireside chat at the 53rd Annual Nasdaq London Investor Conference.
- 2:00 p.m. The Federal Reserve will announce its interest rate decision.
- 2:30 p.m. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will hold a press conference. Economists will be listening carefully as they assess the Fed’s expected interest rate trajectory for 2026.
Thursday – December 11
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Broadcom (AVGO), Costco Wholesale (COST), Ciena (CIEN), and Lululemon Athletica (LULU). Options trading implies a double-digit move for RH (RH) and Mitek Systems (MITK) after they report.
- All day – Notable investor events include Watsco’s (WSO) Investor Day, Weyerhaeuser’s (WY) Investor Day, Schneider Electric’s (OTCPK:SBGSF) Capital Markets Day, Copa Holdings’ (COPA) Investor Day, and Suzano’s (SUZ) Investor Day.
- All day – OPEC will publish its monthly oil report.
- All day – It is the FDA action date on GSK’s (GSK) supplemental Gepotidacin treatment.
- 11:05 a.m. Microsoft (MSFT) will present at the Barclays Global Technology Conference.
- 5:00 p.m. Costco (COST) will hold its earnings conference call. Investors will be watching for any indications of a special dividend or stock split in the near future. Of interest, Central Garden & Pet (CENT) generates more than 10% of its revenue from Costco and has traded in tandem with it after earnings 88% of the time over the last two years.
Friday – December 12
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Johnson Outdoors (JOUT).
- All day – The FDA action date for BioCryst Pharmaceuticals’ (BCRX) Orladeyo (berotralstat) could lead to a share price movement.
- Postmarket – Nasdaq 100 index changes are expected to be announced based on the schedule used in the past.
